What's on the drawing board for Jamaica in 2027.
Jamaica is thinking big. At JAPEX 2026, the Jamaica Product Exchange held annually in Montego Bay, tourism officials and hotel developers laid out an ambitious pipeline of projects set to reshape the island's travel landscape over the next two years.
On the hotel front, several major brands are expanding their footprint. New all-inclusive properties are slated for the north coast, while boutique developments are targeting the quieter south shore — a region that has long been overlooked by mainstream tourism but is increasingly attracting adventurous travelers.
Perhaps the most talked-about development is the proposed integrated resort and casino complex near Falmouth, which would represent Jamaica's first major gaming destination. Officials were careful to frame it as a broader entertainment and hospitality project, with the casino component as one element of a larger resort experience.
Port infrastructure is also getting attention. The Port Authority of Jamaica outlined plans for expanded cruise facilities at Falmouth and Ocho Rios, designed to accommodate the newest generation of mega-ships while improving the shore excursion experience for passengers.
