Luxury travel and cruise sales are buoying travel advisors' first half of 2026.
Travel advisors are reporting a strong first half of 2026, with cruise sales — particularly in the luxury segment — leading the charge. A Travel Market Report survey of advisors across the country found that the majority are pacing ahead of 2025 on revenue, with many describing their books as the fullest they have been in years.
The luxury cruise segment has been the standout performer. Lines like Regent Seven Seas, Silversea, and Seabourn are reporting record advance bookings, and advisors say clients are trading up — choosing longer itineraries, higher cabin categories, and more exotic destinations than they might have considered before the pandemic.
"The client who used to book a seven-night Caribbean cruise is now booking a 14-night Mediterranean voyage in a suite," said one luxury specialist based in Florida. "They went through the pandemic and realized life is short. They're not holding back."
River cruising has also performed well in the first half, despite the water level challenges that have plagued European operations this summer. Advisors say demand for 2027 river cruise sailings is already strong, suggesting that clients are not being deterred by the disruptions.
